The Savvy Stretch

Somewhere between excessive caution and a reckless lunge is a savvy stretch. Meticulously staged but not wholly controlled. Begun before every element is in place. Risky, but less so than staying put. There’s a savvy stretch that would change nearly every trajectory. But often we don’t see it or make it even when the reach is accessible and overwhelmingly beneficial. This is the enigma. If we realized what exists one move away, we might be stunned. Wistful. And surprised by how little it takes.
